UMA’s aim is to teach, learn, act and assess. The University comprises four areas to that end: Education, Active Research, Project Incubator, and Environmental Assessment.
The areas of Education and Active Research are UMA’s academic branch (learning and teaching), while the Incubator and Environmental Assessment areas of UMA are its Project branch (acting and assessing).
The four areas are designed to dovetail:
1. UMA’s Education Program will train leaders to conduct environmental projects, and the Incubator will develop such projects.
2. UMA students will take part in Incubator projects in order to learn from real projects, and will also be able to submit their own projects for possible financing.
3. The Assessment area will evaluate the environmental impact of projects stemming from the Incubator area.
UMA’s academic plan of studies will be designed on the basis of Incubator experiences and the Environmental Assessment area.
5. The Active Research area will identify the learning experiences generated in each area and integrate them into each. |
